Pinel & Pinel’s 80’s Arcade Machine Transports You Back In Time!

Okay, so there’s no Delorean under the slick blue cabinetry of Pinel & Pinel’s latest geek gadget (the ultra-cool retro arcade game cabinet) but stepping up to this beauty and peering down at the pixels will make you think you’ve turned 12 again.
They call this thing “The Trunk” and it’s a mobile arcade cabinet on wheels with a built-in emulator capable of playing over 60 titles like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and more.  But where’s the fun in dusting off an old tradition (playing your games standing up) if you can’t get a little funky with it?
That’s way Pinel & Pinel added the 1080P LCD screen (though your Pac-Man game is definitely not going to be displayed in High-Definition) and massive speakers capable of blasting out those quirky retro soundtracks at extremely high decibels.  Also, they saw fit to build in an iPod/iPhone doc so you can pump your iTunes or Pandora radio through them.  Arcade cabinets aren’t cheap (even the old ones will run you into the thousands of dollars) and building an emulator cabinet like this can set you back a few hundred dollars.  Unfortunately, Pinel & Pinel hasn’t released a price on their “Trunk” yet but you can bet when they do it’s going to be a big one.  Take a moment and weigh your options.  Should you choose awesome, eye-bleedingly good graphics on a modern gaming console for a few hundred bucks or drop a few grand on an 80’s inspire wooden box that plays crappy old games?  The answer to that no doubt depends on how old you are and how many quarters you lost at your local arcade.
